Local Musician, Local Instrument

The TEDxTampaBay event, which helped spread ideas among some of Tampa’s best thinkers and doers in the TECO theatre of the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts, put the spotlight squarely on the talent that resides within the Bay area.  One of the local talents spotlighted at the event was Emily Roff.  Emily sang poignantly as she played her beautiful acoustic guitar.  Before her performance, she talked about how much she loved the guitar for its uniquely beautiful craftsmanship.  The wood on the top and sides of her instrument had been masterfully tinted an antique blue and the grain shown boldly through the blue stain.  Beautiful wood and pearly inlays finished the instrument.  The best part of Emily’s story was that the instrument, like her, is local.  Her guitar is a Dean Guitar.  Dean Guitars just happen to be hand made in Tampa, Florida.  So, Emily’s performance was an authentic Tampa Bay product, instrument and all.
